Two Wheeled Hybrid Systems for Solar Power and Backup

The AL-INV mobile combines a hybrid inverter, a LiFePO4 battery, and the main controls in a wheeled cabinet. Two configurations are presented: AL-INV 3600 with 3.6 kW and 7.68 kWh nominal, and AL-INV 6000 with 6 kW and approximately 16 kWh nominal.

The term “mobile” means the cabinet can be moved across a suitable floor; the units weigh 65.75 kg and 122 kg. They are not portable appliances. The preassembled cabinet simplifies integration, but PV connection, grid input, AC outputs, protection, grounding, and commissioning remain electrical work.

The ratings 100 A and 120 A are the published maximum battery-charging currents. They are not used here as discharge limits. AC power available from the battery depends on the pack’s discharge limits, BMS, instantaneous voltage, temperature, and inverter settings.

PV Input: 450 V MPPT and 500 V Absolute Limit

Both models have an upper MPPT limit of 450 V DC. The 500 V DC value is the absolute maximum PV open-circuit voltage, not a different MPPT range for each model. String design must keep operating voltage within the model’s range and cold-corrected Voc below 500 V.

  • provide module Voc, Vmp, Isc, Imp, and temperature coefficient;
  • confirm the number of modules in series and total current;
  • observe the 18 A or 27 A limit for the selected model;
  • provide DC isolation, surge protection, correct polarity, and grounding;
  • do not assume PV modules are included unless they appear in the quote.

LiFePO4 Battery and Nominal Energy

For AL-INV 3600, 25.6 V × 300 Ah equals 7,680 Wh. For AL-INV 6000, 51.2 V × 314 Ah equals 16,076.8 Wh ; the 16,000 Wh designation is a commercial rounding. Usable energy is lower than nominal energy and depends on the discharge threshold, losses, temperature, and configured reserve.

The BMS monitors overcharge, deep discharge, and temperature. Published communications include RS232, RS485, and dry contacts. Inverter and BMS settings must remain coordinated for the supplied battery configuration.

Solar, Battery, and Grid Modes

The hybrid architecture can use the PV array, battery, and a grid input. The project diagram defines source priority, grid charging, bypass, priority outputs, transfer behavior, reverse-power protection, and neutral and grounding behavior.

Published transfer times of 10 ms for IT equipment and 20 ms for household appliances are stated for the applicable modes. Compatibility with a server, medical device, or other sensitive equipment must still be validated against its actual ride-through tolerance and the selected operating mode.

Indoor Installation and Commissioning

  • install the IP21 cabinet indoors on a stable, dry, ventilated floor;
  • provide PV and AC protection, suitable cable sizes, and grounding;
  • separate grid, priority-load, PV, battery, and communication circuits;
  • program priorities, charging limits, BMS thresholds, and energy reserves;
  • test the sources, bypass, transfer behavior, alarms, and emergency shutdown;
  • lock the casters and maintain ventilation clearances.

Information Required to Select the System

  • continuous and starting power of the loads;
  • daily energy use and required backup duration;
  • grid voltage, frequency, and availability;
  • PV modules, available space, and installation environment;
  • delivery city, access, cabinet-movement distance, and commissioning requirements.

Indicative Price and Quote Scope

Depending on the model, storage, PV equipment, protection, and mobile accessories, a project may range from XAF 2,200,000 to XAF 4,500,000. This range is not the price of two fixed offers. The quote identifies the cabinet, any PV modules, protection, cables, delivery, work, commissioning, inclusions, and exclusions.
